Chumbi Valley is a mystical RPG blockchain game that features pets called Chumbis.

Zelda and Pokemon have captivated our childhood, and even our adulthood years thanks to their entertaining and addictive gameplays. And while they haven’t announced any plans to migrate to blockchain gaming, one new game has dared to fuse their most exciting elements to bring an immersive and mystic-themed world for today’s play-to-earn gamers.

Background

Chumbi Valley’s founder and CEO, Aisha Venables, is also the founder of Strange Planet Studio, a company that specializes in e-commerce, graphic design, and photography, equipping him with expertise that can boost the game’s critical elements.

What is Chumbi Valley?

Chumbi Valley is a mystical-themed blockchain game that runs on the Binance Smart Chain and Polygon, which gives the game major advantages such as speedy transactions and zero fees. Soon, app-based versions for PC, Mac, Android, and iOS will be released to cater to a bigger audience.

Players will find the game’s theme and visuals familiar as it was inspired by some of the most successful games in history, including Zelda and Pokemon.

And since this is a blockchain game, all items found inside Chumbi Valley are all NFTs, which players can genuinely own.

Players can earn and advance in this game through battling, exploring, breeding, crafting, and other interesting activities that they will discover along their journey.

Meet the Chumbi

Every game wouldn’t be complete without the presence of oh-so-adorable characters, and for this game’s entry, it would be the ‘Chumbi’. These cute playable characters possess a “spiritual connection” in the mystical valley where they live and are tasked to protect it at all costs.

To kickstart the players’ journey in the game, their first Chumbi will be given for free, called “Ancestor Chumbi,” which will guide them on basic tasks. But the catch is, players wouldn’t be able to trade or sell this specific character.

Power Up Your Chumbi

For those who have already played Pokemon, Chumbi Valley’s gameplay will be entertaining and familiar as players need to fight other Chumbi, including their trainers, to acquire higher levels.

And of course, as players’ Chumbi attain higher levels, these mystical creatures can defeat more powerful enemies and gain bigger rewards.

Chumbi Sage

A Chumbi can be equipped with “magical know-how” by sending him to a Chumbi Sage, which would teach him how to acquire in-game tokenized items and a Chumbi can gather these valuable things even if the player who controls him is offline.

Chumbi Food

Everyone deserves happiness, including Chumbis themselves, because in their world, “happiness” is the very food that empowers them.

Players need to “feed” their Chumbi with higher happiness levels to unlock higher staking rewards and fast-track their progress in the game.

Chumbi Unique Parts

Since Chumbis are NFT assets, their value comes not only from the rewards they acquire in the game but also from the rarity of their body parts.

Each Chumbi is made of various parts such as eyes, ears, mouth, horns, and coat. Also, players must know that Chumbi has a “Main Type” and a “Coat Type,” and the game offers a total of 15 main types, each with its own 10 coat variations.

In other words, 150 types of coats can possibly appear on all types of Chumbi, and each character can be even more unique with the hundreds of body parts and patterns at players’ disposal.

Gamers can also have a chance of acquiring rare body parts and coats when breeding their Chumbi characters.

Battles

Each Chumbi starts with 2 “Attack Moves,” 2 “Effect Moves,” and a unique ability found on its own genetics, and all these abilities would increase as players progress in the game.

One of the most interesting aspects of Chumbi’s 2 attack moves is that it encourages players to strategize their moves and not merely attack mindlessly.

Why? Because a character’s first Attack Move is based on its “main type,” while its second Attack Move is based on its “coat type,” which must all be used strategically to gain an upper hand in a battle.

Each Chumbi can earn experiences or “XP” and level up by defeating Chumbi opponents through abilities and strategies.

But just like any fighter, whether in real life or in virtual worlds, Chumbi also needs to power up from time to time.

Based on the game’s rule, every time a Chumbi’s level increases by 5, he needs to munch a “Candied Apple” to be able to hop on the next level, and players can create these yummy treats by fusing Lucky Star tokens and “Apples.”

CHMB (Chumbi Token)

CHMB, or the Chumbi Token, is the game’s primary in-game currency and plays a central role in the Chumbi Valley’s entire ecosystem. It is designed to be used on critical game transactions such as payment for new Chumbi, land plots, Wandering Trader items, breeding fees, Sage fees, and Marketplace purchases.

Players would also be incentivized in holding CHMB, and as a result, would create a natural price growth that can benefit both the players and the ecosystem.

On top of these things, CHMB will soon allow players to participate in governance voting through an upcoming DAO, where they can have a voice in the game’s future direction.

LSTS (Lucky Stars Token)

LSTS is the game’s secondary token designed to be a primary requirement in improving the abilities of Chumbi. Even though it has an infinite supply, its precious value is constantly maintained in the game through burning in the “breeding,” “happiness,” “spells,” and “levelling” transactions in the Chumbi Valley.

Players can earn LSTS tokens by either participating in PvE or PvP battles, and players must strive to defeat stronger enemies to gain more LSTS.

For PvE battles, players must have what it takes to face and defeat wild cursed Chumbi, and for PvP, they must be strong enough to challenge and win over their fellow Chumbi Valley players.

Aside from participating in battles, LSTS can also be earned through farming crops, selling in-game assets, gathering resources, and accomplishing in-game quests.

Shrine of Giving

Shrine of Giving is a virtual “shrine” where players can lock their CHMB tokens for a specific period and be incentivized with staking rewards. Locked tokens will help decrease CHMB’s circulation, further enhancing the token’s value and the game’s economy.

Marketplace

The marketplace is where players can buy, sell, and trade Chumbi, game items, resources, crops, cosmetics, land plots, and other valuable items that can improve their characters’ abilities and aesthetics.

Wandering Trader

The “Wandering Trader” is as literal as it gets; he is a wandering merchant that sets up shop in places where players can easily see him.

He sells various items, including Chumbi cosmetics, seeds, decorative items, and a long list of other things that sometimes include rare items, which players should watch out for.

He will also express interest in purchasing players’ crops and resources in exchange for Lucky Star tokens, which can help beef up players’ token assets.

Conclusion

Chumbi Valley has interesting gameplay and tokenomics, which gives it a big potential to be a successful play-to-earn game. But as everybody knows, the P2E realm is a highly competitive battlefield, which means that a steady stream of new games can always challenge Chumbi Valley’s offerings.

It is yet to see if the game can keep up with the challenge and continue to innovate and satisfy gamers along the way.
