Tron’s much anticipated Sun network’s “TestNet” phase launch has been announced by the Tron Foundation on Medium. The Sun Network is poised to make it much easier to run dApps with minimal energy consumption, increased security, and efficiency.

Justin Sun, Tron’s CEO knows how to keep the crypto world engaged and has appeared to have done it again when in April, he announced the Sun Network’s launch. The network is Tron’s second layer solution that will assist the platform in increasing the scalability potential of dApps. It is projected that the Sun Network, named after the platform’s CEO and founder, could enhance the network’s scalability and capacity.

In the article, Tron elaborated further on the project, saying:

“The overall solution of the Sun Network will provide unlimited scaling capacity for the TRON MainNet, bringing in more possibilities to the development of TRON’s DApps and the entire ecosystem. The solution also strives to bring about a positive impact on the whole blockchain industry while flourishing the network of TRON”.

Sun Network Launching In 3 Phases

Now that the first phase of the Sun Network has been completed, dApp developers are looking forward to the commencement of the second phase of the project. Marked for August 10th, the TestNet will evolve to the official version of the Tron DAppChain. This phase is designed to enhance the network’s usability as well as support the developer community in building and adopting the new side chain environment.

Phase 3 of the launch sequence will take place on September 15th, and will be mostly focused on ease of use and deployment of dApps both by developers and users. The Tron Foundation plans to consolidate TRX’s position as the crypto verse top dAPP leader with the full release of the Sun Network. Justin Sun’s premonition that Tron is “the Ethereum killer” may become true. However, what many can not believe is that Tron has not killed itself, as they have never been far from controversy in their short time in the crypto sphere.

Tron’s Controversies

Tron is never far from drama. The project has been the subject of criticism ranging from accusations of plagiarizing their white paper to alleged fake “pump and dump” news since its conception in 2017.

Justin Sun is a Ripple and Jack Ma’s Hupan University alumnus, known for his very marketing-centric approach. He has also been vilified by crypto fans for Tron’s lack of originality when compared to Ethereum.

Consequently, Ethereum’s godfather Vitalik Buterin has called Tron a scam and told Sun off for claiming Tron’s superiority over Ethereum saying “better white paper writing capability (Ctrl+C + Ctrl+V much higher efficiency than keyboard typing new content).” Despite all the negativity surrounding Tron’s launch, Sun conducted a successful ICO raising capital worth $58 million.

The announcement of the Sun Network has nevertheless raised many eyebrows and rehashed the plagiarism talk that has followed Sun and Tron. The Sun Network’s release, coming so soon after the launch of the Lightning Network has made some pundits suggest that Justin Sun is out to shamelessly steal both the Lightning Network’s and Ethereum Serenity’s thunder.

Tron’s already has a superior processing capability as it is, and this two-layer innovation looks a bit frivolous and more like an attention seeking gimmick. Nevertheless, with the launch of the TestNet, the crypto verse will experience first hand the amplified effects of the innovation.

You wouldn’t put it past Sun and Tron to ignore these whispers and come out triumphant, he has done it before and will no doubt do it again.
